वाक्य क्या है?
In English grammar a sentence is a group of words that make complete sense.
अंग्रेजी व्याकरण में वाक्य शब्दों का समूह होता है जो पूर्ण बोध कराता है।
Examples:
1. Raj is a good boy.
राज एक अच्छा लड़का है।
2. You are honest.
आप ईमानदार हैं।
3. Come.
आओ।
4. Come here.
यहां आओ।
5. Go to school.
विद्यालय जाओ।
अतः हम यह समझते हैं कि वाक्य शब्दों का समूह होता है जो एक शब्द से या एक से ज्यादा शब्दों से भी मिलकर बनता है जैसा कि उपरोक्त वाक्यों में दिखाया गया है।

अर्थपूर्ण वाक्य क्या हैं?
Those sentences that make complete sense are meaningful sentences.
पूर्ण बोध कराने वाले वाक्य अर्थपूर्ण वाक्य होते हैं।
Examples:
1. He has a pen.
उसके पास एक कलम है।
2. The earth is round.
पृथ्वी गोल है।
उपर्युक्त वाक्यों से हम यह समझते हैं कि अर्थपूर्ण वाक्यों की बनावट तथा अर्थ दोनों सही होते हैं, इसलिए ये वाक्य अर्थपूर्ण हैं।

अर्थहीन वाक्य क्या हैं?
Those sentences that donot make complete sense are meaningless sentences.
पूर्ण बोध न कराने वाले वाक्य अर्थहीन वाक्य होते हैं।
Examples:
1. I girl am a.( इस वाक्य की बनावट गलत है इसका सही बनावट I am a girl. होगा।)
2. A month has 40 days.
एक महीने में 40 दिन होते हैं। (इस वाक्य की बनावट सही है परंतु अर्थ गलत है इसका सही अर्थ ' एक महीने में 30 दिन होते हैं ' होगा।)
अतः हमलोग उपर्युक्त वाक्यों से समझते हैं कि यदि वाक्य की बनावट सही न हो या फिर वाक्य की बनावट सही हो परंतु अर्थ गलत हो तो वे अर्थहीन वाक्य होते हैं।
